GIBRALTAR ON OECD "TAX INFORMATION EXCHANGE
'WHITE LIST'"

In April 2009 the G20 in conjunction with the OECD established the criteria for the inclusion of countries on their so called "Tax Information Exchange "White List"" of jurisdictions. Said criteria require countries to sign at least twelve Tax Information Exchange Agreements (TIEA'S) with economically relevant countries by the end of 2009. The OECD website, www.oecd.org states that the purpose of these TIEA'S is to promote international co-operation in tax matters through the exchange of information

On the 21st of October 2009 the Gibraltar Government issued a press release (the full text of which can be viewed on the Gibraltar Government website www.gibraltar.gov.gi) confirming that Gibraltar had, following the signing of its thirteenth agreement, been transferred by the OECD to their aforementioned "White List".
